SUPPLIES:
SURFACE: The MDF bell shaped ornaments are available at www.lonnalamb.com. Can be adapted to other surfaces. Enlarge or reduce as desired.
One sheet of scrapbook paper, Holiday Phrase #16028, www.CreativeImaginations.us or a similar sheet. Not very much of the script on the paper shows after painting, so an alternate painted background is included.
PAINT: DecoArt Americana Acrylic
Antique Gold, Avocado, Berry Red (optional), Black Green, Burnt Umber, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Citron Green, Coral, Cranberry Wine, Deep Burgundy, Fiery Red (NEON), Hauser Light Green, Hauser Medium Green, Moon Yellow, Plantation Pine, Raw Sienna, Rookwood Red, Scarlet, Snow White, Tomato Red, Watermelon Slice,
Gesso: Any brand
BRUSHES: Use any brand but use good quality brushes unless otherwise indicated.
¾” wash
3/8” – ½” old filbert or flat to apply Decou-Page glue
Small flats, sizes 2, 4, and 6 for base coating elements
18/0, 00, 6/0 script liners
½” angle brush or brush you use for floating. Larger brushes work best.
Size 1 or 2 round brush optional
OTHER SUPPLIES:
Decou-Page Matte Glue Sealer by DecoArt
Americana DAS13 Sealer/Finisher Matte (spray) or Krylon 1311 Matte spray
Sharp Craft Knife (I always insert a new blade for this)
Cutting mat or old magazine
Bone folder or smooth sided pen handle
Brayer or smooth sided bottle or glass
Tracing paper
Stylus
Piece of brown paper sack or 600 wet/dry sandpaper
White graphite, old grey graphite
Palette knife
Varnish of choice. I like to use DecoArt’s DuraClear Ultra Matte or Matte varnish
